Court of Heaven Part 4
· October 26, 2026
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it. (See Hebrews 4:16, NLT)
Introduction: Where Do You Pray From?
You now know that heaven is a court, how the court works, and who stands with you in it. One question is left, and it is a practical one. How should you pray?
Two people can say the same words and pray from very different places. One prays like a beggar who hopes someone will notice. The other prays like a child of the house who knows what has already been done. Three questions will guide us:
- Why do some prayers go unanswered?
- What did the Cross finish?
- Where do I stand when I pray?
Why Do Prayers Go Unanswered?
Sometimes people pray and do not receive because they ask from the wrong place. They pray from emotion or personal desire instead of from faith and truth.
And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. (See James 4:3, NLT)
Loud is not the same as aligned. You can pray with tears for hours and still be standing in the wrong place. A word of care: not every delay is your fault. God has His own timing. But it is worth checking where you are praying from.
The Cross: What Was Finished?
The Cross was about suffering, but that was not all. It was the moment everything was completed.
It is finished! (See John 19:30, NLT)
With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever. (See Hebrews 9:12, NLT)
The price was paid in full, and it was paid once. Nothing was left over for you to add by trying harder.
Your Position: Where Do I Stand?
You do not come to God begging or unsure. You come with confidence, because you have already been made right through Christ.
- Come boldly. The throne is a throne of grace, and you are invited (See Hebrews 4:16, NLT).
- Stand justified. Since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God (See Romans 5:1, NLT).
- Expect the weapon to fail. No weapon turned against you will succeed, and you will silence every voice raised to accuse you (See Isaiah 54:17, NLT).
Conclusion: Enforce, Do Not Fight
Heaven has a relational side and a judicial side. Victory does not come from emotional intensity. It comes from lining up with what Christ has already done.
You do not fight for victory.
You enforce what the Cross settled.
CLOSING DECLARATION
I come before the Judge with confidence. I have confessed. I have an Advocate. The blood speaks for me, and the verdict is in my favor.
